I believe in providing quality piano lessons that are nurturing, creative and fun.
I teach both modern and classical music as well as playing by ear, playing with others and improvising to ensure that what I teach is relevant and engaging, and make it a priority to give my students the skills they need to become life-long musicians.
I believe in piano lessons that focus not only on reading music but on discovery and creating your own music.
I value building friendships and collaboration with other students and work to achieve a sense of community with my students and parents.
I believe in learning through games and creativity and piano students who are always excited about learning the piano and coming to lessons.
I believe my program is one of a kind and will continue to evolve. My students will always be my inspiration to continue learning and creating music.
Sarah began her journey in music at the age of six on the violin (after persistently begging her parents for violin lessons!) and started piano lessons a few years later. She continued to study the piano to complete her Associate Diploma in Piano Performance as well the grade seven musical theory requirements whilst also studying veterinary medicine at university. Sarah has over 10 years experience in teaching music and is committed to continuing education, participating in numerous conferences, courses and workshops each year, in areas such as piano pedagogy and the Dalcroze, Kodaly and Orff music philosophies/methadologies. These days she runs her own piano studio, whilst also practising part time as a small animal veterinarian.
