Preschool Piano Lessons
Being immersed in music from a young age has a myriad of benefits, not just in terms of musical benefits but also in social and academic development. Preschool music lessons suit students aged 3-5 and look a little different to piano lessons for older students. There are many fundamental concepts that students need to grasp before they are ready to play and read 'traditional' piano pieces. Preschool lessons break apart these concepts in a fun and age appropriate way so students can get a strong grasp of rhythm, pulse, pitch, finger co-ordination musical patterns, keyboard geography and sound to symbol recognition.
A variety of fun materials are utilised in preschool piano lessons including the Wunderkeys preschool piano books, Piano Safari rote songs, Kodaly based song and rhythm activities, rhythm instruments, soft toys and lots of games to ensure a fun, eclectic and balanced musical experience for your child. For students that are not ready for one on one lessons, will struggle with regular practice (preschool students should do 5-10 minutes of practice 4-5 times a week) or that don't have access to an instrument then I recommend the small group Music Discovery classes as a great alternative start to music.
